| ASPRSS --> The history of ASPRSS |
| Much has happened since James Shaw wrote an article at CoverYourASP.com on April 19th 2001. Charles Carroll immediately helped enormously by creating a discussion list where many members of the ASP community helped transform the proposed Form Submission Standard into the Shared Table of Resources. In under 3 weeks, with help from Steve Smith (ASPAlliance), Pedro Pequeno (InfoGenius) and many other ASP developers, the STOR schema was written and the STORS.org web site built. Then, with only 3 days to go before the new STORS.org web site was to be launched, we "discovered" RSS - and instantly the STOR concept was re-evaluated and subsequently deprecated. The end result is this site - ASPRSS.com, launched on June 18th 2001. Taking all the sample code from STORS.org and re-writing it to work with the RSS standard we have satisified James' initial aim to allow ASP sites to easily and quickly share links to resources. ASPRSS goes even further with the concept than STORS.org did - it provides a subscription-only service to its members that automatically submits new or updated articles to all the ASPRSS-registered directories!
